You can’t improve on perfection, so when UBM Studios needed the perfect corporate signage for the lobby of its New York headquarters, it asked Impact! Signs to create a work of art from its logo. We proposed dark oxidized and verde patina bronze for UBM’s business sign in New York.

The artists at Impact! Signs developed a design that was true to UBM’s stylized “U” logo, but figuring out how to do it was a puzzle. For one thing, the Impact! Signs designers had to choose just the right scale for the building’s soaring ceilings. Then, finding the right placement on the wall nearly drove the designers crazy. And the installation — you think it’s easy, stud mounting 34 pieces of flat metal to a curved surface? Let’s just say it wasn’t your everyday corporate sign install. The business signs New York designers create couldn’t be any more challenging.

But the people at Impact! Signs are artisans who make it look easy. The end result is an extraordinary interpretation of UBM’s brand identity: a 48″ tall, natural metal sculpture of the familiar UBM Studios logo. The sign is lit by loft-style track lighting, and its metal shapes cast shadows on the mushroom-colored lobby wall.

In the execution of the design, the warm patina of verde bronze meets cool modern style in a sophisticated take on UBM’s logo. The 24 hand-finished bronze disks bring a contemporary touch to a sign for a hip company. UBM Studios is the global leader in digital marketing solutions, creating and hosting virtual communities and events. That’s right; they’re the cool kids you’re always hearing so much about. UBM Studios has offices in North America, Europe and Asia.

The studio’s name, with its blend of upper and lowercase letters, is crafted in dark, oxidized bronze letters. Just like the dots that make up the “U”, the lettering for the “UBM Studios” part of the sign comes straight from the UBM logo. The natural metal finish and 3-D structure take the two-dimensional logo and reinvent it.

Most bronze memorial plaques are designed to have a high tolerance for extreme temperature fluctuations. Normal temperature changes in most climates, indoors or outdoors, will have no adverse effect upon these signs. Of course, extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes and tornadoes can damage bronze plaques, but extreme temperature changes alone will usually not cause a problem.

Ask the sign manufacturer if there are any temperature or weather issues that you should be aware of when purchasing your logo sign. If there are any weather or temperature problems associated with your bronze plaques, ask for details and be sure to get any maintenance instructions to effectively deal with potential problems.

Bronze memorial plaques may eventually develop a greenish patina on its surface from exposure to moisture and air. Keeping the plaque clean and free of dust slows this process, and patina can be removed if it does develop.

Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) October 31, 2010

The mostly untold story of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riots now has a permanent voice at John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park in Tulsa.

The park features a majestic 25-foot-tall bronze tower encircled by 12 large bronze memorial plaques that faithfully recount what ignited, and transpired during and after, one of the most tragic race-related events in our nation’s history. Until now, the story has been largely suppressed. However, the plaques now make public a chronicle of injustice, fear, vigilante behavior, and extraordinary loss and destruction. The bronze plaques are the work of sign company Impact Architectural Signs.

“It is painful to realize that what can only be described as ‘ethnic cleansing’ took place in our nation, and that it has been virtually wiped from the history books,” said U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., chairman of the House Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. “No one was ever convicted for this outrage.”

“Racism, and its violent manifestations, are part of (the) nation’s past that we cannot avoid,” Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich, said.

Impact! Architectural Signs VP Shabbir Moosabhoy states, “Participating on this historic project has been an honor for us. Having been selected to do the work is quite humbling.”

The statue’s sculptor, and park designer, Ed Dwight adds, “The bronze plaques are critical to retelling this important piece of history. They help to make the vision a reality for those who will come here for generations to come.”

Among those attending the dedication ceremony Wednesday was John W. Franklin, son of the late John Hope Franklin, who commented that the memorial plaques are a great tribute to history.

The Tulsa Race Riot, set off on May 31, 1921, took 39 lives, sent hundreds to area hospitals, and left an estimated 10,000 residents homeless as a result of widespread fires and vandalism

Impact! Architectural Signs designs, produces and installs commercial quality dimensional lettering, metal plaques, and custom logos. To learn more, visit http://impactsigns.com.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 27, 2011

Corporate sign manufacturer Impact! Signs introduces a streamlined service that guarantees new sign installation anywhere in the U.S. within three weeks. Available at the start of 2012, this service helps a company brand itself almost immediately after its designer has completed the artwork.

With installers located strategically throughout the country, the architectural sign maker can reach any locale in a matter of hours.

Impact! tested the service in recent months with clients that requested challenging deadlines. Branding sign designers for Ryan Specialty Group, Smucker’s, and Stratford Fidelity presented intricate projects with demanding deadlines. Impact! responded to the tight production and installation schedules with a pace that would have been impossible for many smaller sign producers to match.

This rapid delivery announcement comes as welcome news for brand designers. According to company VP Shabbir Moosabhoy, “More than ever, designers are integrating custom branding and office signs into their clients’ offices and the surrounding environmental graphics as part of their services. As their projects become increasingly complex, timetables consequently suffer. We serve as a partner, and bring peace of mind to these firms so they can continue to impress their corporate clients.”

Indeed, Impact! believes in being involved in the design process early to assist designers in realizing their vision. This synergy actually helps the project progress more efficiently and reach desired results faster. According to Moosabhoy, the company currently enjoys partnerships with graphic design firms, interior designers, architects, marketing and ad agencies, and brand consultants to name a few.

Products available with fast track product include dimensional metal letters and logos, etched glass signs, custom logo signs, and stainless steel and bronze plaques.

For more information about Impact! Signs’ custom signage services, and contact Shabbir Moosabhoy.

No joke – Impact! Signs installed eye-catching lobby signs this month at Chicago’s legendary Second City comedy theatre.

In a related article, a critic who recently visited the attraction used terms like “edgy and sharp,” and we immediately assumed he was talking about our metal signage. Turns out, he was referring to the talent.

But that’s fine with us, because Impact! Signs is honored to have been chosen by The Second City to provide the stainless steel signs in time to celebrate the theatre’s 50th anniversary. We’re guessing they’re planning to be around another 50 years, because our metal signs are designed to last practically forever.

We need to put this story into perspective in order for you to truly appreciate the magnitude of creating lobby signage for such a renowned client. The Second City folks are no strangers to excellence. They have produced some of TV’s most notable comedians … John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Gilda Radner, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Steve Carell, and the
list goes on. The process for choosing a company to manufacture their interior identity had to be treated with careful consideration. When we met with the staff there, the discovery process enabled them to see several samples of projects we had completed to date. It didn’t take long to demonstrate our attention to quality and detail. And in the end, the folks there truly loved the finished product. In fact, they were so impressed, they ordered a metal logo sign for their Los Angeles office, too! Second City also has an office in Toronto, so we’re looking forward to crossing the border soon!

The next time you find yourself strolling down a sidewalk in the vicinity of Wells St. and
North Ave. in Chicago, stop in to The Second City for a laugh (we mean to see a comedy
performance … our lobby signage isn’t nearly as funny). But be sure to give the signs a
look while you’re there.

Glass donor plaques, stainless steel letters, and LED lighting provide a unique donor wall for The Commonwealth Medical College.

TCMC was established through the grassroots efforts of visionary individuals who understood what a community based medical school would bring to a region – and worked to make it a reality. Their goal was to provide more physicians and improved healthcare resources for the people of northeastern Pennsylvania.

To show appreciate and gratitude to the donors whose funding made TCMC a reality, a donor wall was erected in the main lobby of the building. Impact Architectural Signs, working under Quandel Group, TCMC’s General Contractor, designed, produced, and installed a series of etched glass plaques on the donor wall, serving as a monument to the generous donors.

Each glass panel, representing various levels of donations, was sandblasted on the reverse side, and installed with stainless steel stand offs. In the center of the donor wall is a the college name, and thank you message in brushed stainless steel letters. The donor wall also serves as an inspiration to future donors. The wallcovering is a glass bead texture, and when lighting from underneath hits it, the glass beads produce a unique lighting effect. LED lighting from the top and sides also serve to illuminate the etched names in the glass plaques.

The mostly untold story of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riots now has a permanent voice at John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park in Tulsa.

The park features a majestic 25-foot-tall bronze tower encircled by 12 large bronze plaques that faithfully recount what ignited, and transpired during and after, one of the most tragic race-related events in our nation’s history. Until now, the story has been largely suppressed. The plaques make public a chronicle of injustice, fear, vigilante behavior, and extraordinary loss and destruction. The plaques are the work of sign company Impact! Architectural Signs.

Impact! Architectural Signs VP Shabbir Moosabhoy states, “Participating on this historic project has been an honor for us. Having been selected to do the work is quite humbling.”
The statue’s sculptor, Ed Dwight adds, “These plaques are critical to retelling this important piece of history. They help to make the vision a reality for those who will come here for generations to come.”
Among those attending the dedication ceremony Wednesday was John W. Franklin, son of the late John Hope Franklin, who commented that the plaques are a great tribute.

The Tulsa Race Riot, set off on May 31, 1921, took 39 lives, sent hundreds to area hospitals, and left an estimated 10,000 residents homeless as a result of widespread fires and vandalism.

Stratford Fidelity, an executive and physician benefit solutions provider, recently adorned its
walls with the ultimate in informational corporate signage.

The company, known for its industry dominance serving top-tier executives, would settle for
nothing but state-of-the-art office signage to carry various messages throughout its Minneapolis,
Minn. campus. Enter graphics visionary Hans Design and innovative signage manufacturers
Impact! Signs.

When Impact! considered the long-term appeal of the marketing signs, its designers chose to
incorporate the durable timelessness of acrylic and aluminum. Hans Design’s full-color graphics
were reverse laminated to the back of acrylic panels, then secured to the walls either
with round aluminum offsets or, in some cases, top and bottom rails.

One of the several-foot-wide panels serves an ingenious function. Rather than place a typical
white dry erase board in Stratford Fidelity’s distinguished board room, Hans Design came up
with a custom dry erase board that overlays a black-and-white map of the country with Stratford
Fidelity’s offices marked. Another panoramic display incorporates two sheets of glass that
sandwich an inspired arrangement of the company’s marketing brochures, turning corporate
literature into eye-capturing art.

Hans Design Art Director Brianne Hans feels confident her company’s work fell into good
hands. “Branding signage for corporate office environments requires the right combination
of design and implementation. We choose Impact! Signs to partner with us on these projects
because they deliver creativity, confidence and fast turnaround every time.”
