Frequently Asked Questions
Cast aluminum letters are ideal for building signage, institutional entrances, public spaces, and wayfinding where a clean, dimensional look is desired. The casting process adds depth and permanence for both indoor and exterior applications.
We offer brushed, polished, painted, and anodized finishes. Brushed satin is the most popular, but painted finishes allow for vibrant or brand-specific colors. Clear anodized options add durability, especially in outdoor or coastal environments.
Cast aluminum letters are available in standard sizes from 2″ to 24″ tall, with depths typically ranging from ⅜″ to 1½″ depending on letter height and font. Larger letters are cast with more depth for a balanced appearance.
Most cast aluminum letters are stud-mounted for secure attachment to surfaces like concrete, brick, or wood. Spacers can be added for a dimensional effect. We include a mounting template and hardware with every order, and installation is available nationwide.
Cast aluminum letters are made in molds, resulting in thicker, dimensional letters with deeper profiles. Cut aluminum letters are waterjet-cut from flat sheets, offering a thinner, modern look with sharp edges. Cast is better for prismatic and traditional fonts.
A prismatic face features beveled slopes that angle toward the center of the letter, creating depth and visual interest. This classic style is available in standard fonts like Trajan and is often used on cast letters for a bold, architectural effect.
Yes. We can create custom letterforms or logos in cast aluminum, including prismatic faces. Custom casting requires a unique mold, which increases cost and lead time, but results in a one-of-a-kind design.
Yes. Cast aluminum is corrosion-resistant and well suited for long-term exterior use. We recommend a painted or anodized finish to protect against oxidation, especially in wet or coastal climates.
After receiving your deposit, we’ll send a detailed digital layout showing font, size, spacing, and mounting. You can request up to two revisions. Once approved, we begin production and ship your letters with all hardware and instructions.
Our online builder gives an approximate length based on your phrase and letter height. In the proofing phase, we’ll show the exact dimensions and can mock up your lettering on a photo of your building for scale reference.
